The Fifth Edition of the World Utilities Congress
About the Event
The World Utilities Congress, hosted by TAQA, is where the global power, water, and utilities community comes together to set direction, align priorities, and influence the future of the sector.
Taking place from 19-21 May 2026 in Abu Dhabi, this premier event will unite over 25,000 industry professionals to discover the latest technologies, innovations, and solutions driving efficiency, sustainability, and resilience across the utilities sector.

The World Utilities Congress gives you a working forum where strategies are challenged, partnerships are formed, and the next phase of utility transformation is defined. Whether you are looking to discover cutting-edge advancements, forge strategic partnerships, or gain expert insights from world-class leaders, this is a must-attend event that keeps you one step ahead in today’s rapidly evolving energy landscape.
The conference programme for 2026 has been significantly enhanced. It will feature over 500 international speakers across strategic, technical, and innovation streams. Attendees can expect more than 120 sessions that will collectively explore the policies, technologies, and solutions vital for building a secure, sustainable, and inclusive utilities sector.

The Strategic Conference will bring together global ministers, policymakers, CEOs, and technology leaders to explore ways to scale renewable energy, enhance grid flexibility and stability, manage AI-driven demand, shape effective policy and investment frameworks, develop future workforce capabilities, and ensure long-term resilience in water systems.
Meanwhile, the Technical Conference will span 12 categories across the entire utilities value chain, ranging from energy generation and smart infrastructure to water resilience, cleantech innovation, and workforce transformation, fostering cross-sector collaboration and practical problem-solving.
Popular returning features include the Utilities Club, providing an exclusive, invitation-only environment for global decision-makers to exchange perspectives and shape long-term sector strategy. Utilities Connect will continue to facilitate high-value business matchmaking between exhibitors and qualified buyers. Meanwhile, the Leadership Roundtables offer a closed-door platform for collaborative problem-solving and practical progress on shared priorities.

After its successful launch in 2025, the Future Utilities and Energy Leaders (F.U.E.L.) programme is returning to the World Utilities Congress this year. This initiative aims to support emerging talent in the utilities sector. It provides students, young innovators, and recent graduates with opportunities to showcase their ideas, connect with industry leaders, and develop the skills needed to shape the future of power, water, and sustainable infrastructure.
