Kofi Atuah (BEng MBA CEng MIChemE) is a chartered engineer and MBA based in the UK with programme leadership success delivering strategy and operations for infrastructure, enterprise and low carbon innovation in UK, Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. Experience of start-up and social projects includes co-founding and exiting a venture in Qatar, mentoring start-ups and capacity building for social inclusion.

Kofi is currently engaged as Programme Manager on Innovate UK’s Energy Catalyst Accelerator Project, providing coaching and mentoring support to SMEs and startups developing energy technologies and building their business models towards commercialization and clean energy access in sub-Saharan African markets.

Previously, Kofi was retained by Qatar Science and Technology Park to provide coaching to its Accelerator programme cohort and provide insight on bids to monitor and evaluate a solar PV demonstration project. He also led Ghanaian diaspora engagement for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Framework support for community development and social inclusion. Alongside this, he co-founded a sports company which was acquired by a larger business 3 years later.

He was Programme Director for FCS Group for 2 years responsible for $300m of development at Qatar Airport where he ensured successful delivery by setting up business processes and managing suppliers and team resources.

Earlier, he was a Technology Acceleration Manager for Carbon Trust for 5 years managing innovation programmes for low-carbon technology including for Micro-CHP, recommending policy measures for the FIT scheme, assessing funding applications, supporting early-stage businesses, and preparing start-ups for investor readiness and providing investment advisory for early-stage VC targets.

Kofi has worked as a Project Engineer at Johnson Matthey Fuel Cells and Production Engineer at BOC Gases. He has a BEng from the University of Bradford, an MBA from Cranfield University, and is a member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.
