Ms. Sheila Koech


Sheila is a focused, scientifically minded and resourceful researcher and ecologist with specialism in plant ecology, environmental management & conservation, sustainable agriculture, and entomology focusing on academia, fundamental research and problem solving.

She is a climate change steward, skilled with identifying and sourcing solutions to problems and carrying information across a variety of platforms and audiences. She has highly developed communication and leadership skills, recognized as a key team player, community organizer, entrepreneur and conservation leader.

Sheila holds a Bachelor of Science (Zoology and Botany) degree from Kenyatta University, Kenya, where she is awaiting graduation from an MSc in Plant Ecology. She currently serves as a Research Assistant at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe). She is a co-founder at the Green Earth Organization, an environmental community-based organization that seeks to restore and protect the natural environment, and reverse the effects of climate change. Sheila is a member of the Entomological Society of Kenya.
