Dr. Nurudeen Onomhoale Ahmed

Nurudeen Onomhoale Ahmed is a Geoscience Professional with technical, research and enterprise skills specializing in Georesources & Environmental Exploration and Management. He is experienced in the environmental, upstream petroleum and mining (exploration) industry, with a BSc (Hons) Geology; MSc Petroleum Geosciences; Diplomas in Environmental Science and Technology; Project Management; Business Management and Entrepreneurship. He is a Registered Environmental Professional (REP) by the National Registry of Environmental Professionals (NREP), USA, and a Registered Geologist and Geoscientist by the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG) USA; the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS); and the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE). He is also a Certified HSE Professional by the World Safety Organization (WSO), USA, and a Member of the Environmental Careers Organization Canada (ECO Canada) Research Community.

Nurudeen is currently the Lead Geoscientist Consultant at Petrous Eco Geosolutions, an environmental servicing firm specialized in geoenvironmental projects for soil and groundwater sustainability. He has spearheaded geological and geophysical investigations, mineral exploration, soil and groundwater contamination assessments, and carried out geochemical and geotechnical evaluations, environmental & oil spill cleanup and remediation. When free, He enjoys volunteering to accomplish geoscience and environmental-related programmes, research, and projects to contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He has worked with clients on projects from diverse areas of professionalism, including tertiary institutions, private firms, governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Nurudeen is currently rounding up a PhD in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from the Institute of Natural Resources, Environment and Sustainable Development (INRES), University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. In addition, he is a Federal Government of Nigeria, Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Scholar (National and Overseas). Nurudeen currently volunteers as the Research Manager for Water, Air, Food Awards (WAFA), a leading non-profit organization with a vision for Healthy water, air and food for everyone, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is also a UN Volunteer Environmental Specialist for Research and Projects.
